The role is responsible for managing the Group Operations Centre team, processes and staff, including related ad-hoc projects in connection with current business requirements and future strategic plans of Clinigen.

The key responsibilities for this role are:


  • To manage an Operations Centre team ensuring:
  • GDP training is completed in line with GDP requirements
  • Performance is managed including PDRs
  • Individual training and development (on the job training/coaching and specific technical courses) is undertaken
  • Succession planning is completed; ensure identified succession plan are in place opposite key positions within the team
  • The culture of the Operations team supports the Company Values
  • Develop and delivers a high performing team
  • To manage other Operations Centre staff when required
  • To train new starters in all relevant aspects of the Operations Centre


  • Manage the receipt, put away, pick, pack and dispatch processes in accordance with:
    • Internal/external customer requirements (specification & timelines)
    • GDP requirements and SOPs
  • Assist in ensuring internal and external customer’s needs are understood and fulfilled in the most efficient, service orientated and cost-effective manner
  • Promote and communicate (within Clinigen) Operational KPIs and raise awareness and understanding of the Operation Centre performance
  • Assist in the management of the Operation in accordance with budgetary requirements
  • Assist in the management of 3rd party logistics / consumables / other relationships
  • Working to a culture of continuous improvement opposite:
    • Pharma Industry standards / requirements and initiatives
    • Logistics/supply chain industry initiatives
  • Personally deliver Goods-in, dispatch and other delivery tasks when needed


  • Responsible for all related SOPs opposite operational procedures and QA requirements, ensuring they are kept up to date and adhered to within the team as well as ensuring (where necessary) new SOPs are implemented and embedded, meeting existing and emerging business requirements
  • Ensure that the Operations Centre meets MHRA and Health & Safety requirements as well as operating in line with Group Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain pest control and general housekeeping in line with GDP requirements
  • Manage security requirements to the standards needed for GDP and Insurance purposes. Achieve and maintain Known Consignor status
  • Assist in temperature monitoring and recordings in line with GDP/QA/SOP requirements


The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience of pharmaceutical warehousing is essential
  • Knowledge of working within MHRA license requirements
  • Understanding of GMP/GDP
  • Knowledge of warehouse technology and methods
  • Distribution background

IT literacy MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), in-house Accountancy & Planning systems (Exchequer)
