Access to medicine can make the difference between life and death, and all too often time is of the essence for very sick patients.
At Idis MA, we operate a 24-hour service for emergency products – that is, life-saving rescue medicines that are unavailable in the country where the patient is being treated but that we can deliver fast. Idis MA implemented an extended access program in 2012 for a product used to treat a life-threatening condition where time from diagnosis to administration is critical. So far, we have supplied this life-saving medicine to over 280 patients in 11 countries.
Our dedicated Out Of Hours (OOH) service operates 24hours a day, 365 days a year to provide customer services and logistics support. The service switches to the OOH service at 5pm (UK time) and runs until 8am the following day. The service operates 24h at weekends and all UK bank holidays. Idis MA OOH service is combined with storage of drugs at multiple locations in order to ensure the products can be delivered to all locations as quickly as possible (assuming regulatory approval is in place). In EU countries without an emergency regulatory mechanism, we endeavor to reach agreement with the competent authority to ship and gain approval retrospectively.
